A few weeks ago we all made a creature. To make the creature you have to fold it in threes. The
owner of the creature has to draw head of any animal and fold it in.Then it goes on three times until you reach the third one. Then you unfold it to see what your creature looks like. This is what my one looks like.
I am a Year 6 student at Saint Patrick's School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 7 and my teacher is Mr Bell.

Manaiakalani Film Festival
On Wednesday 13th of November our whole school went to Sylvia Park because we were going to the movies to see our awesome videos that our school made.
First, we got into our houses and the big people chose the little people. Two houses got on one bus, I got paired up with Mikaela, my friend.
We got on a bus because it was a little bit far away.
It was very loud when we all got inside but also very warm.
We all had to go toilet before the movies and have a drink of water too.
The three schools who showed their movies in our screening were Panmure Bridge School, Tamaki Collage and Point England as well as our own school. We watched 23 movies altogether. My favorite was Cave Man Rap and the Class site movie.
It was the best day ever! I loved all the 23 movies, they all made me laugh and smile.

Planting Our Vegetable Garden-Jamie
We chose Friday because there was no wind or rain and we chose vegetables to plant because they are healthy and nutritious. First we passed all the plants around so we could chose which ones we wanted to plant. I chose tomatoes because they looked tall already, but when we arrived Mrs Agnew told us to look behind the tag and it said that it takes 16 weeks for them to grow big. Wow - that is a lot!
Mrs Agnew told us to dig a little hole and flip the soil upside down and take it out, then put the seedling inside the dirt and make sure it is very cosy, snug up and very tight.
After that we looked for worms. I found a yellow worm I thought it was a larva. Me and Frances put worms on our plants because worm pee is good for plants. Then we sprinkled egg shells on the plants all around the garden to stop the bugs eating our plants.
After that we were all exhausted from our hard work.We were all happy!π

Nicky's Visit from ASB
Nicky's Visit from ASB
Today Nicky came to our class to teach us how to save money. We were very lucky. We need to plan now for our future because she told us,"If I say money you say Save!" Nicky wrote on the board G W Y W P, means Get What You Want, Plan. Nicky told us,"What do you want to be when you grow up?" I want to to be a singer because I always sing at my house when I am bored and I am using my tablet. Cash also means Clear goal, Action, Save and How long. Nicky told
this story to us, this story was real. One day there was a little boy who was a very good rugby player, and then they announced that there was going to be a trip. But the boy's parents couldn't afford the trip, because they didn't have the money for it. But he told his neighbours that he could put their trash out.He had 10 neighbours and he put the trash out for four weeks every Tuesday. And this is how much he saved - $200.00!
We did a brain storm of ways to earn money. My group was with Mikaela, Nino, Julio and Erich. We wanted to do sell. Julio and Nino were the shop keepers, and they were selling their old toys for $10.00 dollars. And if we put our money in the bank we will get 'interest' and we will have more money.
There were two boys and they wanted to save up for a car, Student 1 put his savings in a money box, and the 2 Student kept his savings in the New Zealand bank.A few days later, Student 3 wanted to save up for a car too, and he put his savings under his bed. Months later when they were teenagers, Student 3 has $2,166, Student 2 has $4,860 and Student 1 has $4,860. But Student 1 actually has $5,725 because the bank gave him interest. So he bought a new car!

We are sitting listening to her.She is teaching us about money.

Smart Relationship Qualities
WALT Show Smart Relationship Qualities
Mrs Collins brought marshmallows and spaghetti sticks to class today. She challenged us to build the tallest tower for ten minutes. We were in a group of three - Mikaela, Nikita and me.
It was 19 cm.
We needed a tower that is: We showed
Free standing Trust.
π
x12 Spaghetti Sticks
x8 Marshmallows
We had to talk to one another and work out different ways of building the tower. After 10 minutes Mrs Collins measured all the towers and Sione, Sonasi and Jacob's tower was the tallest.
I learned that we have to be gentle and listen to one another to get everything to balance properly.

Jesus Respected TAPU In People Tika Pono Aroha
Tika,Pono,Aroha
We have been learning about how Jesus respected the TAPU (Sacredness) of people.
Jesus spoke to the woman at the well when he shouldn't have because she was not a Jew and she was also a woman. He showed respect and love and compassion to her. I show Aroha when I include people to my game when they have no one to play with. When people have a fight or get bullied I stand up for them and make friends with new people. I show Tika,Pono and Aroha when I listen to my teacher and care about the children at my I show Tika when I confess my sins and do the right thing every day. I listen at the right time.
I learned from Jesus that even though people are not the same skin colour or culture but you still have to be nice and kind to them, and one day you'll make friends!

Kindness and Kaitiakitanga
Yesterday on cyber smart, Ms Collins told us what kindness means, but I think that kindness means sharing things with people, And include people who need someone to play with. I've created a slide about kindness and kaitiakitanga. The thing that I liked the most about doing my slide was the pictures because it tells us about love. And when I look at it I feel Jesus' love inside me warming up to my brain to my heart.

St Patrick's day - By Jamie
On Monday, after our learning, we went outside to listen to Miss Bullot tell us our teams. Finally she called my name and my bestie Nicole too. The first game was hockey and hoops. When it was Nicole's turn I said,"Whoo go girl!"
After all of those fun and exiting games I felt tired and sweaty. Miss Bullot told us to say thank you to the leaders and she handed us ice blocks to eat!
It was the best day ever!
